Recently, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation organized a scientific and technological achievement appraisal in Beijing for the "Production Process Manufacturing Technology of Giant Radial Tire 59/80R63 for Extra-Large Mining Dump Trucks" jointly developed by Fujian Haian Rubber Co., Ltd. and Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd. The appraisal committee was composed of 9 experts, with Academician Cao Xianghong from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor Zhang Liqun from Beijing University of Chemical Technology serving as the director and deputy director, respectively.
The appraisal committee listened to the work report, research report, novelty search report, and application certification submitted by the completion unit, as well as the user report. They reviewed the relevant technical materials and watched the video footage of the production site. They conducted detailed inquiries into the key points, difficulties, critical technologies, and corresponding measures during the project research and development process. Based on the reporting materials and after deliberation and evaluation, the appraisal committee unanimously agreed that the technology and product have generally reached an internationally advanced level and agreed to pass the appraisal. The appraisal committee ultimately formed the following appraisal opinion:
1. The submitted technical materials are complete, the data is reliable, and meets the appraisal requirements.
2. It has broken through the technical difficulties in the design and manufacturing of 59/80R63 giant radial tires, obtaining a total of 20 patents, including two invention patents with independent intellectual property rights.
3. The 59/80R63 giant radial tire has been used in batches in mines, with an average driving time of 6,000 hours, comparable in performance to similar foreign products, and the predicted service life can exceed 8,000 hours. This technology and product have filled the domestic gap, making China the third country in the world capable of producing 59/80R63 giant radial tires, and have significantly reduced the procurement cost of giant radial tires for mines in China, enhanced the self-protection capability, achieved good economic and social benefits, and have broad market prospects.
4. This technology meets environmental protection requirements.
It is reported that Fujian Haian Rubber Co., Ltd. has been cooperating with Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd since 2006 to jointly develop production technology for high-performance giant OTR radial tires. Over the years, through the painstaking efforts of R&D personnel from both sides, a number of key technological breakthroughs have been achieved, and the products have been used in many large mines at home and abroad. The main innovations of this technology are as follows: First, the development of a steel giant OTR radial tire deformation control design method (DCM), which can effectively simulate and regulate the force deformation and temperature rise of giant radial tires, realizing the rational design of the tire profile, material performance, and material distribution; Second, for giant radial tires with a shoulder thickness of up to 220 mm, independently developed a low heat generation, anti-cutting tread rubber, low heat generation tread base rubber, shoulder pad rubber, and side rubber, making the tire meet the requirements of heavy load and low heat generation, while ensuring good wear resistance and anti-cutting performance, extending the service life of the tire in harsh environments; Third, developed a steel wire extrusion and cutting integrated manufacturing process, multi-drum forming process, off-machine shaping/radial mold opening/variable temperature vulcanization process, and cooperated with equipment suppliers to develop related special equipment to ensure the stability of tire quality, reduce local over-vulcanization, and improve the overall performance of the tire.
Currently, nearly a thousand 59/80R63 giant radial tires have been produced, breaking the foreign monopoly on this product and possessing extremely important strategic significance. In recent years, with the development of the world economy, there has been a significant demand for OTR tires in emerging markets around the globe, including Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa. Mines are developing towards larger scales and automation, and the application prospects for giant OTR radial tires used in ultra-large dump trucks are very broad.
In the future, Fujian Haian Rubber Co., Ltd. will leverage its scientific research advantages to continuously promote the improvement of production processes and technology, gradually realizing the intelligent manufacturing of giant OTR radial tires, and bringing customers high-quality, high-performance, long-life giant OTR radial tire products and services.
